Welcome to the very first edition of our Pentland Ponies Weekly Blog – where we share what’s been happening at the yard, introduce you to our ponies, and celebrate the little (and big!) moments that make Pentland Ponies such a special place.

☀️ Sun, Baths & Pony Pampering

The sunshine has made a very welcome return this week, and our ponies have been making the most of it – basking in the heat and enjoying the splashy baths that come along with warmer weather.

After riding, it’s really important our ponies get hosed off – not just to cool down, but to wash away sweat and help keep their skin healthy. It’s part of our commitment to pony welfare and comfort, and a great opportunity for our riders to learn hands-on care skills. Plus, let’s be honest – it’s fun getting soaked in the sunshine!

🐴 A New Face in the Field

Some of you might have spotted a new face out in the field – meet Dora, our lovely new horse in training! Dora is settling in beautifully thanks to the calm and consistent work of our staff team, who have been doing an excellent job helping her feel at home. She’s already winning hearts and we’ll be sharing more about her progress in the coming weeks.

📸 Weekend Adventures

We’ve absolutely loved seeing the photos and updates from our pony share families over the weekend – thank you for sharing your stories with us! From hacks in the hills to quiet grooming moments, it’s heartwarming to see the strong bonds forming between ponies and people. Keep them coming!
